Do I need an existing CV?+
For Essential and Complete, yes: you upload the CV you've got and it comes back rebuilt. Create is the one for people starting with nothing. It builds your CV from a longer interview, so there's no CV to upload at all.
How long does it take?+
As long as you want it to. Your answers save as you go, so you can stop at any point and pick up exactly where you left off, whether that's ten minutes or a fortnight later. There's nothing to book and nobody to wait for, so it fits around you rather than the other way round. If you'd rather do it in one go: Essential takes about a minute, because you upload your CV and it comes straight back rebuilt. Allow up to thirty minutes for Complete, usually around twenty to twenty-five questions, and up to forty for Create, which asks a few more. Nearly all of that is the interview itself.
How does the interview work?+
It happens on screen, as soon as you start. A few short, recruiter-style questions, answered by typing or talking, whichever you prefer. No prompt-writing, no jargon. You describe your work, and the questions draw out the achievements and numbers that make a CV land. Essential doesn't include the interview and works straight from the CV you upload; Complete adds it, and Create builds your CV from the interview alone.
Will it always result in two pages?+
Yes. Two pages is the standard employers expect, and our engine is built to hit it every time, prioritising your best, most recent work and cutting the filler.
What's an ATS, and why does it matter?+
An Applicant Tracking System is the software that reads your CV before a human does. If it's laid out with tables, columns or graphics, the software can mangle it, and you're out before anyone sees you. We build every CV to be read cleanly by that software.
Is my data safe?+
Yes. We only use what you give us to write your CV, and we don't sell your details. Your uploaded file is discarded as soon as we've read the text out of it. The full privacy policy is linked at the bottom of this page and sets out exactly what we keep and for how long.
